Grow Wise Workshops: Potatoes!

Sow True Seed is extremely excited to announce our Grow Wise workshop series. We want everyone to be successful gardeners and seed savers, so we’ve designed a workshop series to give you the information you need in the season you need it.

March Workshop: All About Potatoes!

Mother’s Day is approaching, which means it’s time to get those potatoes in the ground. Megan Schneider will be running this workshop and drawing from a wealth of experience to help you have a successful spud season, including:

  • Understanding different growing methods.
  • How to prepare and plant for success.
  • Identifying pests and diseases.

There’ll be plenty of time for Q&As.

Each participant will receive a 10% in-store discount for the day of the workshop, a Sow True Seed bumper sticker and a FREE seed potato.

WHEN: Sat. March 15th, 9:30AM – 12:00PM

WHERE: 146 Church St, Asheville NC 28801

COST: $10 [sliding scale with $5 minimum]

Megan Schneider has a B.S. in Horticulture from N.C. State University and a M.S. in Plant, Soil and Environmental Science from the University of Maine.  Her gardening experience includes home gardens, small farms, landscape design, and sustainable agriculture research and education.  Currently, she subsistence gardens with her husband, two young children and community in Weaverville, NC.

    Im in Louisville Ky but would like a few tips on taters I grew up on a farm in Mich and we grew every thing but have not grown them much since then…
