Description: Kale originated in the Mediterranean region and has been cultivated for thousands of years. It comes in many varieties, some of them so colorful and beautiful that they can be used as ornamentals. It is extremely nutritious and can be eaten fresh in salad mix, or cooked in a large variety of ways including a delicious Portuguese kale soup.
