Become A Seed Grower For Sow True Seed
Sow True Seed is seeking farmers who are interested in growing seed as a cash crop. This session will include information on what varieties Sow True Seed is currently looking to have grown out as well as current market rates for seed.
Holly Whitesides from Against the Grain Farm in Boone will also be presenting on the Economics of Growing Seed and her experiences as a seed grower for Sow True Seed (as well as Fedco and Southern Exposure Seed Exchange).
We are seeking farmers with:
- Seed growing experience
- Seed saving experience
- Access to tools for seed harvesting and cleaning
- Interest in preserving our Southern genetic heritage
If you are interested but do not have experience, Sow True Seed will be hosting a Seed Saving workshop at the end of the season.
