Full-Time Bookkeeper wanted:

The Staff Bookkeeper is a vital part of our business and helps us know where we stand to be able to act on our altruistic and community-building endeavors. This role will work with the General Manager and the Operations Administrator in making key decisions in financial areas by providing accurate and timely financial reporting for the company. She or he will also perform AP & AR duties and keep the office paperwork organized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete all accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Perform technical accounting duties such as posting to account ledgers and reconciling accounts
  • Process and record daily bank deposits and credit card collections
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
  • Assist in annual financial statement audits
  • Maintain payroll records, employee identification, contact information and withholding information to stay in compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Other duties as assigned

 Bonus Skills, but Not Essential:

  • Prepare tax filings such as sales and use tax forms and 1099 forms
  • Pay bi-weekly payroll to employees
  • Calculate and adjust monthly payroll tax deposits, and file electronically or via a check to NC Department of Revenue
  • File quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and produce annual information returns for amounts paid to non-incorporated vendors
  • Quickbooks Online experience


  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience working within a team and community environment
  • Strong personal initiative, motivation and resourcefulness
  • Sweats the details and values an organized work environment
  • Ability to use QuickBooks fluently and Microsoft Office products

 Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Casual and dog-friendly office environment

 Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary starts at $25-$28k/ yearly based on experience
  • Paid time off after 1 year of employment
