Bachelor button is a cool season annual that prefers full sun to partial shade and will tolerate average, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
Direct sow outdoors around the last frost date or start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 70°F. Sow seeds 1/4" deep and 3-6" apart. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days. Thin seedlings to 6-12" apart.
Bachelor button flowers in summer. Harvest cut flowers anytime during this flowering period. Leave a few flowers to set seed and bachelor button will readily re-seed.
