Melon and Summer Savory Seed Packet Artwork

Samuel Fontaine of Asheville, North Carolina was selected to design the artwork for  Summer Savory, and two varieties of Melon packets.

What is your favorite vegetable to eat and why?

My favorite vegetable to eat right now is avocados, I like the texture and flavor of avocado slices. I also like that the flavor isn’t too overpowering when mixed with other foods and ingredients.

What is your preferred medium and why?

My favorite medium to use is usually colored pencils, it’s sometimes different depending on what the project is. I started using colored pencils back when I first started to take my art seriously. I was drawn to them (pun intended) because they are versatile and there is minimal setup to use them. After awhile I just became good at using them and now they are my favorite medium to use.
