Okra Seeds- Mayan

expected to be back in stock by early March

Abelmoschus spp.

HEIRLOOM - was originally collected from an elderly Mayan man in Belize by David Johansen, a grower for Baker Creek. Chris Smith of The Utopian Seed Project grew Mayan okra in his 2018 okra trials and identified the plant as 'Like no other okra I have ever seen'. Mayan Okra offers stunning flowers, and produces velvety green pods with red blushing on beautiful red stemmed plants and lush leaves with true edible landscaping potential. With further research we have strong suspicions that Mayan Okra is Abelmoschus caillei aka West African Okra. In all practical regards, Mayan Okra can be grown and eaten just like standard okra.
