Sweet clusters of blue flowers will dot the corners of any cottage garden. Perennial, this demure gem displays clusters of five-petaled blooms upon stems that reach no higher than two feet tall. Often found growing near creeks and streams, forget-me-nots love moisture and are a great option for shady locations in the garden.
Direct seed in early spring or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Forget-Me-Nots will need full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, they will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for flowers. Perennial in zones four through eight.

Forget-me-not is a perennial that tolerates a wide variety of soils. Choose a site with full sun to partial shade. Provide low to moderate moisture. Drought tolerant once established.
Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost or direct seed outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Seed germinates best when soil temps are between 65-80°F. Sow seeds 2-4" apart and 1/16" deep. Seeds will sprout in 5-10 days. Thin seedlings so that mature plants are 4-6" apart.
Forget-me-not seed matures late summer-fall. Seed is ready to harvest when brown and dry. Store seeds in a cool, dry place. Seeds are viable for 1 year.
