Cover Crop - Phacelia

$12.95 – $39.95

Phacelia tanacetifolia

We started carrying Phacelia in a packet size last year, but the call for bulk cover crop sizes was loud! And for good reason, since there is no better crop for producing biomass and providing a smorgasbord of high quality nectar for pollinators. Will winter kill.

Seeding rate of 1/2 lb per 1,000 square feet, or 11-18 lbs / acre broadcast.

Sow phacelia in spring while the soil is still cool. Make sure seed is well covered, because phacelia seeds need darkness to germinate. Broadcast seed into cultivated soil so that the seeds are about 2 inches (5 cm) apart and one-fourth inch (0.5 cm) deep. Thin to 10 inches (25 cm) apart in all directions.
