Farm name: Full Sky Farm. It is near the small town of Reading Kansas.
Farm size: 70 acres
Favorite seed crop: Tomatoes are my favorite because there's such a wide variety of them. Plus, squishing tomatoes is a messy kind of fun.
I bought my property over twenty years ago and have put it through many changes from pasture to conventional farm ground and finally to a variety of fruits, nuts, herbs, flowers, and vegetables. All growing naturally and with vegan practices without chemicals, fertilizers or outside inputs. My vegetable garden twenty years ago was the standard backyard version and has expanded to many different garden areas scattered over half a mile. I also planted small fields of grains and sunflowers which I sell locally as flour and home pressed sunflower oil. I'm happy that my property is now a haven for wildlife, a source of healthy food for shoppers at the farmer's market as well as supplying seeds for other gardeners and farmers to plant and enjoy.
