When to Seed Tall Plains Coreopsis

This annual flower should be transplanted or direct seeded into the garden once all danger of frost has passed.

Where to Plant Tall Plains Coreopsis

This plant will appreciate a spot with full sun. Loose, well-draining soil is ideal but this plant will tolerate an extremely wide range of growing conditions. This bloom will readily reseed in most gardens , so keep this in mind when choosing a location!

Growing Tall Plains Coreopsis

Sow seeds 1/16 inch deep and six to eight inches apart. Once germinated, thin your seedlings to 12 to 16 inches. Once established, this plant is quite drought tolerant. Deadheading the flowers will result in more blooms for a longer period of time.

Harvesting Tall Plains Coreopsis

This flower can be used as a cut flower, is also great for pollinators, and is a host plant to native bees and moths.
