When to Seed Money Plant

This biennial flower should be transplanted or direct seeded into the garden once all danger of frost has passed.

Where to Plant Money Plant

This flower will need full sun to partial shade and will prefer loose, well-draining soil that is rich in nutrients. It can grow two to three feet tall, so keep this in mind when choosing a location.

Growing Money Plant

Sow seeds ¼ inch deep and four to six inches apart, being ready to thin your seedlings to their mature planting distance of 12 to 18 inches. This biennial will flower in the second year. It will readily reseed.

Harvesting Money Plant

Money plant makes a particularly gorgeous addition to dried flower arrangements once it's gone to seed. When fully dried and gone to seed, use sharp shears to snip this flower back.
