Dianthus barbutus
These brilliant little flowers have fringed petals of red, pink, purple or violet. Plants grow 8-18" tall and bloom the second year. Direct-seed or transplant after last frost. Prefer sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Long-lasting cut flower. Summer blooming.
Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Dianthus will need full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, dianthus will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for flowers. Biennial.
