Krista Allison was selected to design the artwork for our Lemon Mint Bee Balm, Common Chives, and Forget-Me-Not packets.
What is your favorite vegetable to grow and why?
Favorite vegetable: Carrots, fresh from the garden. My mom kept a small veggie garden when I was growing up, and the carrots were always my favorite.
Favorite flower: I love poppies and ranunculus for their looks, lilacs and bearded irises for their scent. And honeysuckle! Love honeysuckle.
Why was I excited about this project?
For several years, I’ve made nothing but stuffed toys, hand puppets, and hats. This project pushed me to explore a new aesthetic and different methods. It got me out of my rut! When I signed up, I didn’t have a game plan. Through making this artwork, I now have a new direction that I’m going to continue to explore.
