When to Seed Roman Chamomile

This perennial chamomile should be direct seeded into the garden in early spring or transplanted once all danger of frost has passed. 

Where to Plant Roman Chamomile

This plant will appreciate a spot with full sun. Loose, well-draining soil is ideal but this plant will tolerate a wide range of growing conditions. It is perennial, evergreen, and will spread, so keep that in mind when choosing a planting location. 

Growing Roman Chamomile

Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and three to four inches apart. Once mature, thin to ten to 12 inches apart. When established, this herb is low maintenance. 

Harvesting Roman Chamomile

Chamomile flowers should be harvested daily during flowering. They can be deadheaded by hand or with shears and used fresh or dried.
