Soft blue flowers with a white to yellow star at the throat that opens at dawn. Prolific, self-seeding, 15' vines need full sun and trellising. Soak seeds before planting. Direct seed or start in containers for transplanting after last frost. Full Sun. Self-seeding annual. Minimum of 22 seeds per 1 gram packet.

Site Selection

This frost sensitive annual prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soils.

Cultivation

Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date or direct sow outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. For best results, nick the hard seed coat and/or soak seeds in water overnight prior to sowing. Sow seeds 1-2" deep and 4-6" apart. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 70-75˚F. Seeds will sprout in 5-21 days. Thin seedlings so that mature plants are 6-12" apart.
