Thymus praecox
The perfect creeping thyme for creating a scented walkway. Can be used for culinary purposes although it has a milder flavor than other thymes. For best growth, sow indoors with light soil cover and transplant to garden.
Direct seed in early spring or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Thyme benefits from cold stratification. It will need full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, thyme will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for leaves. Perennial.
