Carousel is a multi-branching, bushy dwarf sunflower that only grows three to four feet tall, but becomes covered in multiple four-to six-inch lemon yellow blossoms - great for gardening in a small space or in containers! 

Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Sunflowers will need full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, sunflowers will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for flowers. Annual.

Site Selection

 

Sunflower is a frost sensitive annual that prefers full sun and well-drained soil with low to moderate moisture. Drought tolerant once established.

 

Planting

 

Direct seed outdoors once the danger of frost has passed. Optimum soil temperature for germination is 65-85˚F. Sow 1" deep and 4-6" apart. Seeds will sprout in 5-12 days. Thin so mature plants are 8-10" apart.
