When to Seed Zinnias
This annual flower should be transplanted or direct seeded into the garden once all danger of frost has passed.
Where to Plant Zinnias
This flower will need full sun and will prefer loose, well-draining soil that is high in organic matter. Plants reach one to three feet tall.
Growing Zinnias
Sow seeds ¼ inch deep and four to six inches apart. Once mature, thin to 12 to 18 inches apart. Regularly deadheading spent blooms will result in a longer bloomtime.
Harvesting Zinnias
Zinnias can be harvested for cut flowers, or left to mature in the garden where they will likely reseed and will attract all kinds of pollinators.
