IN PERSON CLASS: Viewing Plant Stress From The Sky

$15.00

We use satellite data to track climate change and its impacts to the ecosystems.

With satellite data of more than five decades, we can monitor the stress signals sent by plants caused by drought and human activities such as logging.

Come to learn how we can use satellite data to identify stress signals from plants (including some spy satellite data too) and intervene to support ecosystem health!

Yuhan (Douglas) Rao, PhD lives in Asheville, North Carolina and is a senior research scientist with the North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies. His education consists of applied mathematics, statistics, and cartography.  His daytime job mostly involves (sometimes boring) virtual meetings and exciting computer programming.

When: Wednesday, September 9th from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Where: Sow True Seed - 243 Haywood Street Asheville 28801

Further information and reminders will be sent out via email
