Bed Preparation

Strawflower varieties prefer full sun and well-drained soil. As annuals, they will grow well in many areas of your garden. Leave room for their height and spread. At least a 3 foot circumference.

Planting

Sow outdoors after the last frost, or sow seeds in flats indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Transplant in mid to late spring. Annual. Water lightly to moderately.

Harvest

For Strawflower, harvest flowers regularly and deadhead any that have passed their prime.

Storage

Hang dry in bundles or screen dry. Once completely dried, store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
